Cheesecake and Graduation

Graduation season is upon us!  How many graduation parties do you have to attend?  How many graduation parties do you have to host?!  My son, the bright young high school graduate, has invited ALL of his friends to our house for his graduation party.  And of course family and friends of the family will be coming by too.  I have been scouring the house for all of my son’s potty-training pictures just for the occasion.  I’ve also been trying to figure out what to serve all of our guests.  I know we will be making salads and grilling burgers for all the well wishers….but what about dessert?  It can’t be just any old dessert—it’s my son’s graduation after all (and he loves dessert)!  But I don’t have time to whip up a beautiful graduation cake.

What’s that you say?  Order one?  Order a cake online?  A cheesecake?  A delicious New York Style Cheesecake?  Well that’s a fine idea!  My son, the happy graduate, LOVES New York Style Cheesecake.  In fact, one of the first things he ever tried to cook for me on his own was a made-from-scratch, slightly lop-sided, New York Style Cheesecake.  And whenever we go out to dinner on a special occasion, that’s the very thing he orders.  Yes he really loves New York Style Cheesecake!  But how can I be sure that the cheesecake will get here in time?  Especially if I am ordering enough cheesecake to feed all of my son’s friends with their insatiable appetites, I really can’t take chances with this, you see.  What’s that you say?  They will be delivered within 24 hours?  24 hours after I order the cheesecakes they will be delivered to my door?  You mean I can concentrate on creating an embarrassing photo collage of my son’s early years to display to all our friends and family instead of driving around town trying to find a last minute desert for his party?  Well, that’s a great idea!  (See all of our cheesecakes by clicking.)

I just thought of something else: what if my guests don’t like New York Style Cheesecake?  Wait a minute…what’s that you say? There are all sorts of cheesecake flavors and combinations available online?  Well, how about Chocolate Cheesecake, Key Lime Cheesecake, and Cookies and Cream Cheesecake?  I can find all of those oneline?  Oh, that’s simply wonderful!  I can even order low-carb and no-added sugar cheesecake?  This is really too marvelous!  In that case, even my mother-in-law will enjoy it.  I’ll have to order several of the low-carb variety.  Well, thank you for this outstanding advice.  You really have saved me a great deal of time and worry!  I am off to edit all the video tapes we have of my son in his awkward acne and braces stage so as to create a montage for the party, after, of course, ordering a variety of delicious cheesecakes.
