Hop to it! : An Easter Party Guide
Every year, Easter is one of those times of year
that’s great for a family get-togethers. If you’re like most
people, you probably dread the Easter if you’re
responsible for hosting the family party. Planning any sort of
event can be an intimidating job, especially when it
involves the whole family, near and far. So I don’t blame you
for being nervous about planning for an Easter
party.
Certain tasks always come to mind. I have to
clean! How
should I decorate? What should we
eat? Picking
the right meal for your party can make or break your
holiday party, so here are a few ideas to make a great
Easter dinner.
It’s important to have a good supply of
appetizers and hors-dourvers to wet your guests’ appetites
as you play host and greet everyone at the
door.
Picking the right appetizers can be tricky. You want to make sure
that there is a variety of foods to please
everyone.
There are several ideas that never go out of style, such
as a shrimp platter, crackers and an assortment of
cheeses.
However, you want your party to be
remembered.
You might try putting together a platter of spring
vegetables.
This is a great idea since Easter time is a great time to
get some of the freshest veggies of the
spring.
What’s Easter without eggs? A great hors-dourver
idea is to prepare an egg salad dip to go along with the
crackers.
Don’t stop there. Putting together some
deviled eggs will be sure to knock your guests off their
feet.
After the appetizers, you have to start thinking
about the main course. This can be tricky
because there isn’t a clear cut meal that Easter has like
Thanksgiving and Christmas has turkey. However, this also
allows you to get creative with your main
meal. With
no boundaries, you can whip up a special, personal Easter
recipe. A
standard meal at my Easter gatherings is the Easter
ham. It’s
always a crowd pleaser, but sometimes we switch it up a
little.
There are hundreds of things you can do with chicken to
make it a great Easter feast. You might even think
about making one of your favorite meals. Are you master at
lasagna?
Make it! The
main course of your Easter meal gives you the opportunity
to be creative and serve a great meal for your
guests.
Your main entrée is done. You have to end the meal
right so that your family will go home raving about your
Easter dinner.
Dessert can be tough to choose. It has to be something
special so that your meal can end on a high
note. One of
the greatest Easter desserts I’ve ever had was a
delicious cheesecake. Cheesecake is probably
one of the most popular holiday desserts, not matter what
you’re celebrating. It’s always a crowd
pleaser.
Whether its home made, or store bought, cheesecakes are a
delicious way to end any meal. They come in dozens of
different flavors like chocolate, turtle, raspberry, and
of course classic style. There’s pretty much a
flavor for everyone. Most sellers also sell
variety cakes to please everyone in parties just like
yours. (See all of

Planning your Easter feast doesn’t have to be a
fearful task. It should be a great
opportunity to show off your great culinary skills and
spend time with your family. As long as the tasty
treats and family are there, it should make for a
memorable Easter holiday.
